Milkor has demonstrated it’s SuperSix MRGL 40mm grenade launcher to the Colombian Army, as the company seeks to position the SuperSix as a key infantry weapon in Latin America

The Colombian Army tested the Milkor SuperSix MRGL 40mm grenade launcher at Tolemaida Military Base.

The weapon, showcased by the South African company Milkor and represented in Colombia by Kriegsgott Group SAS, demonstrated its rapid-fire capabilities to officers, non-commissioned officers, and special units.

Milkor introduced the SuperSix MRGL as the latest evolution in its 40mm multiple grenade launcher lineup, which has been widely adopted by armed forces and security agencies in over 60 countries.

The SuperSix MRGL is a semi-automatic grenade launcher with a rotating six-shot cylinder and a double-action firing mechanism, allowing six rounds to be fired in under three seconds. It supports both low-velocity (400m range) and medium-velocity (800m range) ammunition, enhancing operational flexibility. The launcher is compatible with various munitions, including high-explosive, smoke, and blunt-impact rounds. It features MIL-STD-810G compliance, NATO certification, and STANAG 4694 Picatinny rails for attachments.

The SuperSix has also been adapted for use on vehicle, naval, and aerial platforms. Its versatility allows integration into various operational configurations, extending its battlefield applications. Additionally, Milkor has developed a version designed for riot control applications—the Milkor MAR (Multiple Anti-Riot)—which recently passed its final qualification phase and is now being presented to potential users.

The SuperSix provides a significant advantage over the U.S.-made Mk 19, M79, and M203 grenade launchers used by the Colombian Army. Unlike the Mk 19, which is a vehicle-mounted, belt-fed system weighing 35.2 kg, the 5.96 kg SuperSix is handheld and designed for infantry operations. It also surpasses the M79 and M203 in rate of fire, as both require manual reloading after each shot.

Milkor has expanded its global reach, receiving over 4,000 orders for the SuperSix MRGL between 2023 and 2024. The company has also entered the military vehicle and UAV sectors, producing the Milkor 4×4 armored personnel carrier and the Milkor 380 UAV.
