The Ogun State Government has deployed the Proforce Eagle 3 drone, a state-of-the-art Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) produced by Proforce Air Systems Limited.

The deployment was witnessed by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, and Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, during the drone’s inaugural flight. The Eagle 3 UAV, boasting advanced surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities, is now an active component of the state’s crime-fighting arsenal.

The Eagle 3 is designed for vertical takeoff and landing, making it highly versatile for mapping and surveillance missions. Its aerodynamic design allows for seamless operation, providing unmatched performance and precision in aerial surveillance.

Customization is at the forefront of the Eagle 3’s design, allowing for a variety of payload options to meet specific surveillance requirements. These include high-definition cameras, thermal imaging, EO/IR, and advanced sensors.

Constructed from durable materials such as EPO, carbon fiber, aviation aluminum alloy, and engineering plastic, the Eagle 3 boasts an impressive endurance of 2 hours and 30 minutes at maximum takeoff weight, with a range of 126 kilometers.

A standout feature is the A30TR 3-Axis Gimbal Camera, capable of accurately tracking humans, vehicles, or boats, identifying target GPS locations and distances, and offering a zoom capability of up to 30 times.

The collaboration between Proforce and Ogun State began with a training program aimed at equipping security personnel with the necessary skills to operate UAVs effectively. This partnership has now culminated in the deployment of the Eagle 3, showcasing Proforce’s commitment to supporting local security measures.

Governor Dapo Abiodun highlighted the strategic importance of the drone, particularly for monitoring the Lagos Ibadan Expressway, a critical and vulnerable thoroughfare. The Eagle 3’s deployment promises a quicker response time during incidents, enhancing the state’s overall security response.
