According to the United States Department of Defense contracts for 18 August, On-Point Defense Technologies has been awarded a $8,597,609 firm-fixed-price contract for integrated master batteries, upgraded tube-launched, optically tracked, wire-commanded missile launchers, and upgraded armament control units.
The weapon system is used in anti-armour, anti-bunker, anti-fortification and anti-amphibious landing roles. TOW is in service with more than 40 armed forces and is integrated on over 15,000 ground, vehicle and helicopter platforms worldwide. The system was fitted with wireless guidance in 2010 and is being used by US Army, Marines and other customers.
Morocco already operates 70 launchers in service, with 1,200 BGM-71-4B-RF TOW 2A RF missiles on order, approved for export on 8 December 2016.
On September 13, 2019, Morocco requested the sale of 2,401 TOW-2A anti-tank missiles. Also included in the request were 28 TOW 2A Fly-to-Buy missiles for lot acceptance testing; 400 M220A2 TOW launchers and/or 400 M41 Improved Target Acquisition System (ITAS) Launchers.
