Second Senegalese CASA C-295 aircraft arrives dakar

This advanced aircraft is a powerful symbol of the country’s commitment to modernizing its air force.

The Senegalese Air Force has taken delivery of the second CASA C-295 tactical transport aircraft from Airbus. The CASA C–295 (now Airbus C295) is a medium tactical transport aircraft that was designed and initially manufactured by the Spanish aerospace company CASA.

The Senegalese Air Force can now proudly boast their second CASA C-295 tactical transport aircraft from Airbus. This advanced aircraft is a powerful symbol of the country’s commitment to modernizing its air force. The CASA C-295 is a medium tactical transport aircraft and is the result of the collaboration between the Spanish aerospace company CASA and Airbus. This aircraft has been specially designed to meet the requirements of the armed forces and offers an impressive array of features to ensure optimal performance in any environment.

The first C-295 transporter arrived in Dakar on July 28. Both aircraft were received by the Minister of Defence Maitre Sidiki Kaba.

The CASA C-295 is equipped with two powerful turboprop engines that provide a maximum speed of 540 km/h and a range of 4,200 km. It is also armed with a state-of-the-art navigation system, including a head-up display that allows for all-weather operations. The aircraft is also equipped with a comprehensive suite of communications and sensors, including a GPS system and an Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) system. In addition, the aircraft is capable of carrying up to nine tonnes of cargo, making it ideal for transporting troops and supplies.

The aircraft’s interior is designed to provide maximum comfort and protection for the crew and passengers. The cabin is equipped with advanced climate control systems, soundproofing and ergonomic seating. Additionally, it has an advanced air management system that ensures a safe and comfortable environment during flight. Furthermore, the aircraft has an onboard galley, lavatory, and a large cargo area, making it a perfect choice for long-distance missions.

The acquisition of the CASA C-295 also provides the Senegalese Air Force with the capability to transport personnel and cargo to remote areas with greater speed, efficiency and safety. This aircraft can also be used for medical evacuations and search and rescue operations. Additionally, it is the perfect platform for training and operations in hostile environments.

The Senegalese Air Force has made a strategic investment in the CASA C-295. This aircraft is well-equipped to provide the air force with the necessary capabilities to meet the country’s defence needs and ensure the safety of its citizens.
