Nigér special forces fielding Bulgarian made AR-M52T assault rifles

Nigerien special forces are now equipped with the powerful Bulgarian made 7.62 x 39 mm AR-M52T assault rifles, providing them with superior firepower and precision.

The country’s special forces contingent were seen during the Flintlock 2023 joint exercise with the Bulgarian firearm. The country’s military forces typically uses the various variants of the Soviet-built AKMs assault rifle, RPD and RPK squad automatic weapons, as well as the Chinese Type 56 assault rifle.

This powerful weapon is capable of firing in both semi-automatic and fully-automatic modes with an impressive rate of fire of up to 700 rounds per minute. It features a robust construction and is equipped with a range of features that make it ideal for special forces operations.

The AR-M52T is fitted with a 30 round magazine, allowing for efficient and sustained fire. The KIA KM450 utility vehicles were acquired with equity from the Ministry of National Defence to effectively fight against insecurity.
