Egypt’s AOI signs MoU with China Aerospace Construction Group Company

Egyptian defence companies are relying on defence exhibitions and show to corral potential customers into taking an interest in their products. At the IDEX 2023 defence exhibition, Egypt companies displayed a plethora of capabilities ranging from armoured vehicles to naval, unmanned and electronic solutions.

Egypt’s state-owned company the Arab Organization for Industrialization signed a contract and a memorandum of understanding with the Chinese company China Aerospace Construction Group Company (CACGC) during the IDEX 2023 defence exhibition held in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

AOI signed the partnerships with major international companies in the defense industries, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on the importance of localizing technology and increasing the proportions of the local component and added value in various defense industries

This came during the activities of the fourth day of the participation of Arab Industrialization in the IDEX Abu Dhabi 2023 exhibition, where a contract and a memorandum of understanding were signed with the Chinese company CACGC which specialises in the field of defense equipment.

In this regard, the Chairman  of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, Ali, expressed his pride in the importance of this cooperation and partnership with the company ((CACGC), pointing out that it was agreed to localize technologies in a number of fields of defense industries, including three-dimensional radar   

He added that the areas of cooperation include the exchange of experiences and the training of human cadres in the authority on manufacturing and maintenance work according to the latest digital manufacturing systems, expressing the aspiration of the Arab Organization for Industrialization to open new areas of cooperation in various advanced defense industries, through a coordination committee between the two sides to follow up on the implementation of joint projects.

For his part, senior officials of CACGC expressed their pride in the importance of cooperation with the Arab Organization for Industrialization, the industrial backbone of the Egyptian state and its expertise in various manufacturing and human capacities in accordance with international quality systems in various industries, stressing that the Egyptian market is attractive for investments and promising and constitutes strategic importance for the countries of the African region. He added that (CACGC) is looking forward to strengthening aspects of partnership with Arab Industrialization in many other defense industries.

Cairo’s participation at this event highlights progress in the homegrown defence industrial complex which is now able to supply the most cutting-edge requirements to the military, thereby reducing reliance on foreign suppliers. Egypt’s military-industrial complex has enjoyed burgeoning growth since the last decade owing to sustained government support, and a need to keep the military forces modernized and in top fighting shape.
