Allen-Vanguard integrates counter-mine equipment to African military’s OTT Puma M36 armoured vehicles

Allen-Vanguard has integrated electronic counter measure (ECM) equipment to 19 armoured vehicles for an African nation. The customer is a major contributor to peacekeeping in Africa.

Although, Allen-Vanguard did not disclose which country or vehicles were on the receiving end of its ECM suite, however, the company announced that 19 armoured personnel carriers (APCs) we’re fitted with its 3XXX ECM suite.

The 3XXX ECM suite is a static and vehicle mounted counter-radio controlled improvised explosive device (RC-IED) system and has been operationally used both in the African region and globally. It is updated with the latest waveforms produced by the company’s Threat Management Team (TMT) to ensure the latest signal threats can be jammed.

Also, an Allen-Vanguard Field Service Representative (FSR) team has been deployed in-theatre for over a month to supervise the equipment installation and to provide end-user and maintenance support training.

Allen-Vanguard’s Business Director for Africa, Stuart Wilson, said “I am very proud of the hard work and dedication of all our Allen-Vanguard specialists to ensure that the ECM systems we fit for our customers provide the very latest and best possible protection in the region. It is very rewarding to know that our systems help protect our customers from the very real threat of IEDs in the region.”

Allen-Vanguard continues to enjoy business success with Africa militaries particularly those in the Horn of Africa. The security company was recently tasked to equip Somali personnel with skills to detect and dispose of explosive ordnance effectively.

Allen-Vanguard, SKK International and Artios Global delivered the logistics and training aspects of the explosive threat reduction training team (ETRT) courses to the Somali National Army and the Somali Police Force.

Also, in October, Allen-Vanguard was awarded a contract worth $5 million to deliver electronic countermeasure (ECM) equipment to Somalia.
