The United States Military has contracted an American company Relyant Global to quickly upgrade the future home of the Super Tucano A-29 combat aircraft in Kainji airbase.
The 12 A-29 Super Tucano counter insurgency aircrafts due to arrive in 2021-24 are slated to operate from the Kainji Air Base located in the western state of Niger at the southern end of Kainji Lake.
Few days ago, the United States Air Force commenced construction of the A-29 facilities.
The contract for the construction was awarded by the US Air Force Security Assistance and Cooperation Directorate’s Foreign Military Sales Construction Division to the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Europe District, worth $36.1 million.
RELYANT has completed numerous projects involving their civil works capabilities in support of clients such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Defense Logistics Agency Energy Program, Weston Solutions, and the Regional Contracting Center – Bagram.
Some of the civil works Relyant Global has completed include: fuel system improvements; various pump installations and repairs; concrete, joint, and containments installations and repairs; and wet utilities systems installations and repairs.
The American company also undertake the construction of warehouses, k-span facilities, connexes, relocatable buildings, life support areas, administrative facilities, housing quarters, air plane hangars, and health and wellness facilities.
