United Kingdom-based Pennant International which specialise in platform specific solutions on real or simulated military equipment have been contracted by Morocco to supply Virtual Parachute Training System (VPTS) in November.
Morocco requested for one Student Jump Station and Instructor Operating Station of the ‘Lite’ variant which will be based on the generic software that is in service with various military schools says Pennant.
Discussions with Morocco for the VPTS apparently began in 2018 during the I/ITSEC exhibition, at that time Pennant displayed variant of the parachute trainer.
This sale, marks the first time the system is ordered by an African customer, following internal investment and a product development exercise,
Pennant International Business Development Executive Stuart Hooker said “This is a great result to finally get the sale completed, especially in what has been a very challenging period. I look forward to seeing the finished solution and hope this is the first of several orders from our VR portfolio. I thank the wider team for their support in getting this on contract”.
Pennant describes the Virtual Parachute Training System (VPTS) as an immersive training system capable of supporting initial canopy control training and malfunction recognition through to mission planning and rehearsal.
That same period, the UK also ordered for an additional custom terrain to be developed for its military.
