Ivory Coast Air Force orders Airbus C-295W tactical transport aircraft

Airbus Defence and Space announced on 21 January that the Ivory Coast Air Force (Force Aérienne de la Côte d’Ivoire) has signed for a single Airbus Defence and Space C-295 tactical transport aircraft.

The Côte d’Ivoire Air Force (Force Aérienne de la Côte d’Ivoire) is acquiring the aircraft in its baseline transport configuration. This new aircraft will complement the two Antonov An-26 ‘Curl’ tactical transport acquired in 2018, and the An-12 ‘Cub’ it acquired in 2005.

Although, Airbus Defence and Space only noted that the C-295W was ordered in its baseline configuration which includes winglets and modified engines for greater fuel economy and/or range. However, experts believe that the contract will likely include infrastructure, training, and support.
