After a lengthy period of waiting, the, Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) Super Mushak has been inducted into the Nigerian Air force. A huge fanfare was made amid an excited crowd at the Kaduna Air Force base yesterday were the Pakistani delegates were entertained. The Super Mushak although not a super sophisticated aircraft is much appreciated due to the fact that the US Government has repeatedly disrupt the Nigerian air force from acquiring platforms needed to combat the ongoing insurgency at home.

The Super Mushaks will be used majorly for training purposes but if needed, it can be armed with rockets, dumb bombs and Precision Guided Munitions (PGMs).

Trailing the Super Mushaks will be three units of the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) JF-17 Thunder from the same manufacturers in Pakistan. The Thunders will replace or complement the aging Chengdu F-7s jets which is a copy of the old venerable MiG-21 FishBeds which the Nigerian Air force has been using for sometimes now. Also 3 units of the deadly Mi-35N Hind assault helicopters has also been ordered from Russia.

It seems that the Nigerian Government is in the process of totally overhauling the fledgling Nigerian air force which is a welcome move considering that the air force has been in a ‘comatose’ state for a very long time.
